Description	:	MRS. A.J. HICKS, FORMERLY OF WINNETOON, DIES APRIL 7 Funeral services were held a the Plainview mortuary last Wednesday for Mrs. A.J. Hicks, who died at Ft. Collins, April 7, at the age of 81. Services were conducted by Rev. Snyder of the Congregational Church. Burial was in the North Cemetery. Pallbearers were old time friends and neighbors. Maria Mae Hicks, daughter of Benjamin and Delilah Reed, was born in Wappelo county, Iowa, Jan. 28, 1866. She spent her youthful days on a farm near Ottumwa, Ia. She was united in marriage to A.J. Hicks, Nov. 28, 1884. To them two children were born, Ben F., who died July 14, 1924 and Stella, who died at the age of two. Mrs. Hicks reared a niece, who preceded her in death, as did her husband, who died Sept. 27, 1937. They came to Nebraska 43 year ago, living in the Foster vicinity many years. After the death of her husband, she lived in Plainview, Neligh and Winnetoon, going to Bellvue, Colo., July, 1949 to make her home with her grandson. She is survived by her grandson, Keith Hicks and family, a daughter-in-law, Millicent Hicks and grandson, Russell; four nieces and three nephews, which include Mrs. John Aird and Earl Peed of Winnetoon.
