From the Dixon Journal, December 23, 1926 Following a month of suffering, Mrs. Marie Tideman passed to her rest Monday morning, December 13, 1926, at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. N.C.B. Nelson, at Concord. She reached the advanced age of 86 years, 7 months, and 11 days. The funeral was held from the Swedish Lutheran church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. The earthly remains were laid to rest in the Concord cemetery. Rev. A. N. Skanderup of Laurel officiated. Mrs. Marie Tideman was born in Denmark May 20, 1840. Baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church. She was united in marriage to J.C. Tideman Jan 27, 1863. In the year 1881 the family emigrated to this country from Denmark. They have spent many years around Concord and Laurel. To this union twelve children were born. Four of these have already departed from this world. Mrs. Hanna Mullivan, Mrs. Kirstine Miller, Miss Line Tideman and Frederick Tideman. Those surviving and left to mourn her loss are: Her husband J.C. Tideman at Concord, Neb.; Mrs. Kate Christiansen of Plankinton, S.D.; Mrs. N.C.B. Nelson of Concord, Chris Tidemann of Carter,, S.D., John Tidemann of Dixon, Neb.; Mrs. Dave French of Concord, Mrs. Elmer Evans of Hartington, Mrs. Joe Holt of Cresbard, S.D., and 45 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Her brother, Peter Nissen, lives at Laurel. Mrs. Marie Tideman was waiting for her God and quietly, peacefully she passed away. God bless the memory of her.
