In 1855 he returned to Illinois to bring his wife and three children out west to live on his new farm. They traveled to California via the Panama Route. Francis 'Frank' Marion Davis [1863-1924] Mariah Jane Davis married Simeon Washington Randle on January 9, 1865 in Colusa County, California. Simeon was also a native of Illinois. Mariah Jane Davis and Simeon Randle had 3 children born to them: 1. Frances "Frank" Randle (1869 - 1925) 2. George Nelson Randle, Sr. (1872 - 1936) 3. Charles Edwin Randle, Sr.(1877 - 1935) Mariah died in Chico, California on April 7, 1922 and is buried in Colusa Community Cemetery next to her husband Simeon Randle. She does not have a headstone, but is buried in the family plot next to him. This plot is verified by the Colusa City Cemetery office. OBITUARY #1 - Undocumented News-clipping-Chico,California: Maria Jane Randall [sic], kind and respected resident of Sacramento, died early yesterday morning at the home of relatives in Chico at 5031 Rio Chico Way. She had been ill for some time and brought to Chico several days ago in the hope of improving her condition. She was born December 10, 1846 [sic] in Illinois and resided in California for 70 years. Surviving are three sons, Charles E. Randle of Chico, George N. Randle of Monrovia [a suburb of Los Angeles], and Frank H. Randle of Craft (?); one brother, Frank Davis of Willows. The body will be taken to Colusa by Bicknell & Moore for burial, date for which will be announced later. OBITUARY #2 - Colusa Daily Sun - April 8, 1922: Mrs. W.S. [sic S.W.] Randle wife of he late Simeon W. Randle, former residents of Colusa, and both Colusa County pioneers, passed away at the home of her son, CHARLES RANDLE, at Chico yesterday [author's note: apparently 7 April 1922] at the age of 72 years. Funeral services will be conducted in Colusa tomorrow afternoon at the grave in the Colusa cemetery, where interment will be made. Mrs. Randle was a native of Illinois and came to California shortly after the gold excitement in this state. For many years she resided on the east side and also lived for many years in the town of Colusa. Her father was one of the real pioneers of the early days of this state and county. Three sons are left to mourn the death of the aged mother: Charles, Chico; George, Pomona: and Frank W. of Taft. The latter left for Williams but a few weeks ago for the oil district. McNary & Sons are assisting in the burial arrangements. Rev. C.R. Howard will conduct the services at the grave. Colusa Daily Sun' Saturday, April 8, 1922. OBITUARY #3 - Sacramento Union, 8 April 1922 FORMER LOCAL WOMAN IS DEAD IN CHICO CHICO. Butte Co., April 7. (Special.) —(Mrs. Marie Jane Randle, 72. died at the home of her son, Charles E. Randle. 5031 Rio Chico Way, this morning. The body will be shipped to Colusa for burial. Deceased was a native of Illinois and had resided in Chico since the death of her husband in Sacramento a few years ago. Three sons, Charles E. of Chico, George N. of Monrovia, and Frank H. of Taft; one brother, Frank, Davis of Willows, survive.
