Description	:	Mrs. Mariam M. Owen, a resident of this city for 24 years, died at her home, 200 Player street, Tuesday afternoon at 5:20. She had been in poor health for three years but was bedfast only a week. The cause of death was age debility. Mrs. Owen was born on March 5, 1860, in St. Joseph county, Indiana, the daughter of Josiah and Mary Dunbar. She lived there until she was 17 years old and then moved to Brooklyn, Iowa. She was married at Moravia, Feb. 5, 1879 to Alonzo E. Owen. They continued to live in Brooklyn until 1884... Read More	Mrs. Mariam M. The cause of death was age debility. Mrs. Owen was born on March 5, 1860, in St. Joseph county, Indiana, the daughter of Josiah and Mary Dunbar. She lived there until she was 17 years old and then moved to Brooklyn, Iowa. She was married at Moravia, Feb. 5, 1879 to Alonzo E. Owen. They continued to live in Brooklyn until 1884 when they moved to McCook, Neb., and returned to Iowa in 1900, moving to Malcom. Twenty four years ago they came to this city. Mr. Owen died Feb. 13, 1932, in this city. Surviving are their six children, Mrs. Edna Gooding of this city, Mrs. Edith Legg of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. J. Wheeler and Mrs. Clifford Jones, of Montezuma, Mrs. R. L. Robinson of Kansas City, Kan., and Archie E. Owen of this city. She is also survived by a foster son, Lloyd E. Strong, also 32 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. Mrs. Owen was the oldest and last of her immediate family. Service will be held Friday morning at 10 o'clock at the Pursel funeral home in charge of Rev. P. G. Dennis. Burial will be in the Brooklyn cemetery. Source Poweshiek obituaries
