Manternach, 66, of 23836 Hills Road, Cascade, died at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at home in rural Cascade. Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 24, at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Cascade, with the Rev. Douglas Loecke officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Cascade. (Lochner) Riniker. She married Dennis Manternach on Oct. 26, 1974, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cascade, Iowa. The couple farmed in the rural Cascade area, where she enjoyed working beside her husband, she especially enjoyed taking care of the calves. Marian was a member of St. Matthias Parish, Cascade. Surviving are her husband, Dennis Manternach, of Cascade; two daughters, Ann (Dustin) Cooksley, of Earlville, and Lisa (Nick) Smith, of Delhi; three granddaughters, Maya, Cheyenne and Dionna; and six siblings, Dick Riniker, of Dyersville, Don (Carol) Riniker, of North Buena Vista, Stella (Paul) Helle, of Dyersville, Theresa (Jim) Richter, of Earlville, Alice (Bill) Weick, of Dubuque, and Dan (Shirley) Riniker, of Maquoketa. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Anthony Manternach, in 1988; her father and mother-in-law, Arnold and Germaine Manternach; a sister-in-law, Shirley Riniker; and a nephew, Jeff Riniker.
