Description	:	The funeral for Marian C. Tompkins, 89, of Fremont will be 10 a.m. Monday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. She died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002, at Hooper Care Center in Hooper. Marian Bruce was born Sept. 7, 1913, in rural Tekamah. She moved with her family to Raymer, Colo., as a young girl and then moved to Fremont in 1924. Tompkins, 89, of Fremont will be 10 a.m. Monday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. She died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002, at Hooper Care Center in Hooper. Marian Bruce was born Sept. 7, 1913, in rural Tekamah. She moved with her family to Raymer, Colo., as a young girl and then moved to Fremont in 1924. During World War II, she lived at Little Rock, Ark., for two years and then returned to Fremont. She was an office manager and worked in the catalog department of Montgomery Ward in Fremont for many years. She was a former Girl Scout Commissioner of Eastern Nebraska. She had been residing at Hooper Care Center since January 1997. She married Roy A. "Tommy" Tompkins on Dec. 22, 1935, in Fremont. He preceded her in death July 7, 1982. Survivors include: a son, Bruce Tompkins of Texas; two sisters, Frances (Mrs. Harold) Hauff and Betty Coates, all of Fremont; a brother-in-law, Luther Heller of Hartley, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Lydia Bruce of Fremont; two granddaughters Wendy Cooper and Teresa Doering and six great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. The Rev. Leland Foreman of First Baptist Church in Fremont will officiate Monday's service. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday, all at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont. A memorial has been established to Hooper Care Center.
