Description	:	Marian L. Stanich, 83, a resident of Leavenworth for the past thirty-six years, died Monday morning, March 08, 2004, at her home. She was born Marian L. Olsen on May 05, 1920, to Andrew and Emma (Beaver) Olsen at Freemont, Nebraska, where she grew up and received her early education. On June 1, 1935, she married Oakley O. Cain (1914-1980) at Freemont and they later moved to Vancouver, Washington in 1941. Marian married Edward Stanich on April 18, 1943, at Longview, Washington and they lived in Centralia and later Packwood until moving to Leavenworth in 1968. Read More	Marian L. Cain (1914-1980) at Freemont and they later moved to Vancouver, Washington in 1941. Marian married Edward Stanich on April 18, 1943, at Longview, Washington and they lived in Centralia and later Packwood until moving to Leavenworth in 1968. She worked as a waitress at the Tyee Restaurant in Olympia for six years and while living in Leavenworth, she worked at the Tumwater Cafe and later the Chieftan Restaurant and later the Red Lion Restaurant in Wenatchee for twelve years, retiring in 1987. Marian was a member of the Church of God and the Chumstick Grange #819 in Leavenworth and the VFW Auxiliary and was a volunteer for the Community Cupboard in Leavenworth. She is survived by five sons, Eugene A. Cain of Leavenworth, Markel D. Cain of Soap Lake, Max L. Cain of Randle, Washington, Ron Stanich of Ecuador and Andy Stanich of Leavenworth; step-son, Edward M. Stanich of Portland, Oregon; step-daughter, JoAnne Helms of Honolulu, Hawaii; one brother, Ted A. Olsen of Richfield, WA; two sisters, Grayce C. Ahseln of North Pole, Alaska and Betty Nelson of Gresham, Oregon. 35 grandchildren; 53 great grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Matt Stanich; son, Oakley Owen Cain; daughter, Wanda D. Oestreich; sister, Bonnie E. Brewer and a great great-granddaughter, Hope. A Funeral Service of Commemoration to Celebrate the Life of Marian L. Stanich, will be conducted at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, March 12, 2004, in the Ward's Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Teresa Crawford, officiating. The service will conclude in the Chapel, with private interment in the Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 12 to 7 p.m. at the Ward's Funeral Chapel. Ward's Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth, is in charge of the arrangements.
