Marian Ruth Robish was born on December 6, 1929, in Watertown, SD, the daughter of Frank and Agnes (Barkley) Bowen. She received her education in Watertown, and was a graduate of the Watertown High School in 1947. She was united in marriage to ElRoy Robish on October 29, 1948, in Hayti, SD. She was employed for many years at the Memorial Hospital in Watertown and later moved to Madison, SD for a short time. In 1963, they moved to Brookings, where she was employed at the Brookings Clinic for 25 years until her retirement in 1988. ElRoy died on June 7, 1987, in Sioux Falls, SD. She was then employed part-time at First Lutheran Church. Marian died on Friday, September 25, 2009 in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 79. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, the Does and the Ladies VFW Auxiliary. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed crocheting, fishing and especially spending time with family and friends. Marian is survived by her children William (Debra) Robish of Marshall, WI, Lonnie (Cindy) Robish of Sioux Falls, SD, Susan (Leo) Gardner of Canton, SD, Patricia (James) Wennblom of Elk Point, SD, Jeanne Mangels of Sioux Falls, Judy (Scott) Gjertson of Brookings; 15 grandchildren, Michelle Gardner (Jayshon Younger), Deanna Steinberg (Mike), Matt Wennblom (Shannon), Danny Gardner, Bill Mangels (Lori), David Gardner (Elycia), Carrie Thonstad (Andrew), Tanya Robish (Michelle Kammerud), Marty Wennblom (Amber), Tricia, Becky Kono (Jason), Ty Robish, Buddy Robish, Michael Robish, Jess Gjertson (Josh Wickre); 25 great grandchildren; one brother Marlin (Charlotte) Bowen of Oberlin, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one great grandchild, one brother, and one son-in-law.
