Description	:	Marianne M. "Mimi" McKnight, 97, of Canton and formerly of Painesville, passed away Jan. 24, 2013, at the Inn at Belden Village. She was born March 21, 1915, in Jefferson, to the late Jesse and Mabel (Pedigrew) Marvin. Mrs. McKnight met her late husband, Clinton B. McKnight while majoring in journalism at Ohio University. After graduation, they moved to Painesville and started their family. She was always active in music and drama and enjoyed playing piano. "Mimi" McKnight, 97, of Canton and formerly of Painesville, passed away Jan. 24, 2013, at the Inn at Belden Village. She was born March 21, 1915, in Jefferson, to the late Jesse and Mabel (Pedigrew) Marvin. Mrs. McKnight met her late husband, Clinton B. McKnight while majoring in journalism at Ohio University. After graduation, they moved to Painesville and started their family. She was always active in music and drama and enjoyed playing piano. She also sewed many hats over the years and especially loved family time. She retired in 1980, from Lake County Memorial Hospital in Painesville, working in admissions. Prior to that, she had been employed at various local doctors. She is survived by her daughter, Melissa (Greg) Surratt of Canton; grandchildren, Matthew (Tina) McKeegan, Michael (Melissa) McKeegan, Greg (Sarah) Surratt Jr., Matthew Surratt, Ryan (Kylie) McKnight, Drew (Tara) McKnight, Courtney (Mike) Urban, Morgan (Kevin) Flannigan and Graeme McKnight; eight great-grandchildren as well as daughter-in-law, Deborah McKnight. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clinton B. McKnight in 1986; and son, Michael McKnight in 2004. The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Ave., (opposite Lake Erie College), Painesville. A time of remembrance will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday. Burial will take place at Oakdale Cemetery in Jefferson at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff at the Inn at Belden Village who cared so well for her and Crossroads Hospice for the exceptional care they gave over the past year.
