Description	:	Marie Agnes Drake departed this earth November 16, 2017, Spearfish, South Dakota. Marie was born January 21, 1925, on the Blaskowski family farm, near Buchanan, North Dakota to parents Sylvester and Helen. She was one of ten children including Sylvester, John, Harry, Gertrude, Harriet, Bernice, Ralph, Robert and Joseph. She attended local schools and following high school graduation taught classes 1st through 8th in a one room school near her home. Read More	Marie Agnes Drake departed this earth November 16, 2017, Spearfish, South Dakota. Marie was born January 21, 1925, on the Blaskowski family farm, near Buchanan, North Dakota to parents Sylvester and Helen. She was one of ten children including Sylvester, John, Harry, Gertrude, Harriet, Bernice, Ralph, Robert and Joseph. She attended local schools and following high school graduation taught classes 1st through 8th in a one room school near her home. Marie and her sister Bernice played guitars and sang for family and friends. For a while prior to marriage, Marie played and sang as Patsy Lou and Her Old Guitar, on radio station KSJB in Jamestown, North Dakota. Marie married David Plinski in October of 1947 and raised four children; Daniel, Janel, Robert and Jeffrey; first on a farm near Woodworth, North Dakota and later (1953) in Lead, South Dakota where David was a gold miner. She continued playing guitar and singing for family and friends and with the choir at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Lead. In 1968, Marie and David moved with sons Robert and Jeffrey to Lodi, California where they were involved with St. Ann's Catholic Church. David passed away in 1976. Marie married Francis Drake and they traveled extensively with his assignments with the Air Force Reserves. They moved to Jamestown, North Dakota upon his retirement in 1987. Marie was a member of St. James Basilica. Continuing her travel adventures, she visited son Dan in Southeast Asia in 1993, sightseeing and experiencing the cultures in Singapore and Malaysia. Francis passed away in 1995. In 2004, Marie moved to Spearfish, South Dakota. There, she was member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, her sisters and brothers, except for Bernice, and sons Robert and Jeffrey; Jeffrey's wife Vicki and step-daughter Carol (Drake) Calhoun. Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at St. James Basilica in Jamestown, ND. Inurnment: St. Margaret's Cemetery in Buchanan, ND later that same day.
