Connie Bridgeman was the organist for the service and the congregation sang, "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere", "In The Garden" (Elvis Presley recording) and "How Great Thou Art". The postlude was "Amazing Grace". Marie Anabel Johnson was born September 30, 1906, at Woodbine, Iowa, the daughter of John and Anabel (Kinne) Mulvihill. She married George Johnson February 15, 1928, in Woodbine. The couple farmed in the Woodbine area until they moved to Mapleton. George died January 6, 1953. After his death, Marie worked at the Home Cafe, Reed Furniture, and LeFebvre Laundry. She was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Mapleton, the Jolly 16 Club, the Royal Neighbors and other various clubs and organizations over the years. She loved to play Bingo. Her hobbies were gardening and canning, She enjoyed crocheting afghans for herself and her family. Marie spent many hours embroidering quilt tops, pillowcases, and kitchen towels for her family and friends. Survivors include her two daughters, Sharon D'Ercole and her husband, Dewey, of Omaha, Nebraska and Linda Hines and her husband, Doug, of Aurelia, Iowa; her sons-in-law, Bernard Andrews of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Clyde Welch of Harlan, Iowa. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Marie leaves many nieces, nephews, and cherished friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, her son, Rolland, and two daughters, Thelma Andrews and Christina Welch, her parents, John and Anabel Mulvihill, and her two sisters, Catherine Teager and Ella Callendar. Pallbearers were grandsons and grandsons-in-law. --------
