She was born in South Berwick, Maine, on June 1, 1916, the daughter of Louis and Amanda (Bisson) Demers. She grew up in and attended schools in South Berwick, and lived in Dover for many years. She was employed at area shoe manufacturing firms, including the former Miller Shoe Co. and the Weiss Lawrence Shoe Co. She was a talented cake decorator, a candy maker and an avid gardener. She loved her cat and dogs. Marie was a member of St. Charles Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and is survived by a daughter Claudette Colokathis of Dover; three grandchildren, Anne Marie Richard, Ronald Raymond Boucher and Ricky Joseph Boucher; six great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Cote of South Berwick, Maine, and nieces, nephews, cousins, numerous in-laws and many special close friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Emile J. Boucher, who died in 2000; a son, Ronald R. Boucher, who died in 1973; her siblings, Rose Roy, Alice Carrignan, Gerard Demers, Richard Demers, Alfred Demers, Louis Demers and Leo Demers, and her son-in-law, Dr. Bernard Colokathis. Funeral services with a Liturgy of the Word were held Saturday, April 15, at St. Charles Church, Dover, with burial following in St. Charles Cemetery.
