Description	:	Marie Opp, 93, Glen Ullin, formerly of Hebron, died May 27, 2003, at the Glen Ullin nursing home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Saturday at First Congregational United Church of Christ, Hebron, with the Revs. Gabor Tamas and Chris Walstad officiating. Burial will be in Congregational Cemetery, Hebron. Marie was born Dec. 25, 1909, at Hosmer, S.D., the daughter of August and Lydia (Sayler) Ketterling. Burial will be in Congregational Cemetery, Hebron. Marie was born Dec. 25, 1909, at Hosmer, S.D., the daughter of August and Lydia (Sayler) Ketterling. The family moved to North Dakota in 1910 and settled north of Hebron. She was raised and educated in rural Hebron and helped on the family farm and with the younger children. She moved to Dickinson and worked at St. Joseph's Hospital prior to her marriage to Simon Opp. They were married Oct. 11, 1932, at Hebron. Following marriage, they farmed in rural Hebron until 1972, when they retired and moved into Hebron where she resided until she moved to Glen Ullin in 1996. Simon died in 1981. She was a lifelong member of the First Congregational UCC and a 30-year member of the German Ladies Aid as well as the Guiding Light Society. Although Marie's formal education only consisted of grade school, she was self educated and was an avid reader and read two newspapers a day even into her 90's. Marie could also speak two languages fluently, German and English. She is survived by two daughters,five sons, 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, two sisters and two brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two sons-in-law, Clarence Unruh and Ed Auch. May 27, 2003 - The Bismarck Tribune
