Description	:	Marie Antoinette Stewart Herley, age 96, of O’Neill, Nebraska, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2016, at Avera St. Anthony’s Hospital in O’Neill. She was born on December 19, 1919, the daughter of Walter and Josephine (Pribil) Stewart in O’Neill. Marie graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1937 and attended Van Sant Business College in Omaha. She worked for Lyman Rocky Construction in Omaha. Read More	Marie Antoinette Stewart Herley, age 96, of O’Neill, Nebraska, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2016, at Avera St. Anthony’s Hospital in O’Neill. She was born on December 19, 1919, the daughter of Walter and Josephine (Pribil) Stewart in O’Neill. Marie graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1937 and attended Van Sant Business College in Omaha. She worked for Lyman Rocky Construction in Omaha. Marie was a member of Omaha Squadron Civil Air Patrol from 1942-1945. On March 4, 1946, Marie married Delmont Herley in Clearwater, Nebraska. The couple made their home on a farm south west of Clearwater. Delmont passed away on February 15, 1966. She lived in Clearwater until 1978. Marie attended Norfolk Junior College and Wayne State College. She taught rural school in Antelope County and the 5th Grade at Clearwater Public School. She retired from teaching in 1978. Marie moved to O’Neill in 1980 and was Activity Director at O’Neill Nursing Center from 1980 until 1990, and after 1990, continued to work part time and volunteer at the nursing home. Marie enjoyed many hobbies, including fishing, gardening, making her own cards on the computer, and playing gin and pitch. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, St. Patrick’s Altar Society and the Legion of Mary. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and V.F.W. Auxiliary, Captain of the Civil Air Patrol, and she volunteered with the Blood Mobile. She is survived by: her two children, Wayne Herley and Ronald Herley and wife Kathryn; six grandchildren, Tricia Meduna and husband Bob, Greg Herley and wife Karla, Scott Herley and wife Jackie, Sara Sims and husband Joe, Brock Herley and wife Jody, Jody Helms and husband Mitch; and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Delmont; daughter-in-law, Kathy Herley; and one sister, Rosie (Ray) Cheney. Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, August 1, 2016, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in O’Neill. Burial in the Clearwater Cemetery in Clearwater, Nebraska.
