Description	:	Marie Scott, age 89, of Tipton, IN passed away on September 21, 2017 peacefully at her home. She was born on May 3, 1928 in Moss, TN to Clure and Mollie (Reecer) Walker. On September 27, 1947 Marie married Cecil Scott and they had celebrated 69 years of marriage prior to Cecil's passing on December 31, 2016. Marie was a member of West Street Christian Church in Tipton, and was a past member of Lions International and the Indiana Hairdressers Association. Read More	Marie Scott, age 89, of Tipton, IN passed away on September 21, 2017 peacefully at her home. She was born on May 3, 1928 in Moss, TN to Clure and Mollie (Reecer) Walker. On September 27, 1947 Marie married Cecil Scott and they had celebrated 69 years of marriage prior to Cecil's passing on December 31, 2016. Marie was a member of West Street Christian Church in Tipton, and was a past member of Lions International and the Indiana Hairdressers Association. In her spare time she enjoyed camping, gardening, cooking, canning and square dancing. Marie was very strong in her faith and especially her family. She was a very doting grandmother with her two granddaughters, Amber and Kristen spending many hours playing cards and board games with them. Marie owned and operated Marie's Beauty Shop in Tipton for over 45 years prior to her retirement in 2004. Survivors include her daughter Debra and her husband Stan Hampton. Also surviving are her two granddaughters; Amber Mason and Kristen and her husband Peter Rusch along with her great grandchildren Lyndi Mason, Liam Mason, Adeline Rusch and Alexandra Rusch. Surviving siblings include; Lovie Williams of Cookville, TN, Robert Walker of Muncie, and Don Walker of Arcadia.. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Cecil, and siblings; Jewel Harper, George Walker, Sylvia Spidel, Belva Brown and Lewis Walker.. Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 8 PM on Tuesday evening September 26, 2017 at the Porter Funeral Home located at 726 East North Street in Tipton. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday morning September 27, 2017 at Porter’s with Rev. Linda McKiernan-Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Tipton’s Fairview Cemetery.
