Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at the Holy Name Catholic Church in Watertown with Msgr. Richard Mahowald officiating. Music will be furnished by Donna Williams as organist and Madeline Devine as soloist. Visitation will be Monday, from 4-8 p.m., with a rosary at 4:30 p.m. and a scripture service at 7:00 p.m. at the Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Marie Colette Mahowald, daughter of Henry G. and Ann C. (Reilly) Desnoyers was born on October 5, 1963 in Watertown, South Dakota. She grew up in Clark and graduated from Clark High School in 1958. Colette went to the College of St. Benedict and then to Creighton University School of Nursing where she graduated with her Bachelors of Science degree in 1962. On October 5, 1963 she married Patrick J. “Pat” Mahowald at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Clark. Prior to starting a family, Colette was a Registered Nurse. She is still fondly remembered as a classroom mother at Immaculate Conception school. She was also a Real Estate agent for many years. Colette was a founding member of Birthright and a member of P.E.O. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She also enjoyed researching family genealogy and her time spent with her sewing group. Colette will be lovingly missed by her husband, Pat; her children, Tom (Tracy) Mahowald, Eagan, MN, Monica Mahowald and Andy (Becky) Mahowald, Watertown, SD, Phil Mahowald, Wayzata, MN, and Margaret Mahowald, Minnetonka, MN; seven grandchildren, Joseph, Drew, Nick, John, Caroline, Sam and Mark Mahowald; her sister, Kathy (Gary) Nylander, Brooklyn Park, MN; her sister-in-law, Barbara Desnoyers, Clark, SD; and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Margaret Desnoyers and Mimi Desnoyers Schmidt; and her brother, Henry “H.T.” Desnoyers.
