Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 29, at the Grace Lutheran Church in Gurley with Rev. H. Eldin Wells and Leon ``Bud'' Gillespie C.L.P. officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Sidney. Friends may stop at the funeral home Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. Contributions may be made to the Marie C. Waite Memorial Fund. Marie Catherine Waite, the daughter of Neal and Louise Tank, was born Oct. 11, 1908, in Ames, Neb. She moved with her family to Western Nebraska in 1916 and spent most of her life at her farm home west of Dalton. Marie was united in marriage to William Waite Feb. 4, 1931, in Sidney. They had a son Roland and a daughter Carol. Marie took great pride in her family, friends and community. Throughout her life she was involved in numerous bridge clubs, the Extension Club and the Garden Club. Marie was an avid gardener who cared deeply for the land, growing vast flower and vegetable beds even into her 90's. Marie was a member of Grace Lutheran Church for 83 years, and was it's oldest member at the time of her death. Survivors include her son, Roland and wife Janet Waite of Dalton; daughter, Carol Reed and husband Glenn of Aurora, Colo.; sister, Loretta Nelson of Sidney; grandchildren, Paula Shafer and husband Jeff of Broomfield, Colo., Rollie John Waite and wife Cathy of Dalton, Zanthia Albrecht and husband Brian of Centennial, Colo. and Raquel Isenhart and husband Chas also of Centennial, Colo.; great-grandchildren, Shelby, Kelsey and Diedra Waite of Dalton, Braiden, Jalie and Brenna Albrecht Reed of Centennial, Colo. and Kira and Tessa Isenhart of Centennial, Colo.
