Description	:	Marie C. Ott of Hubbard died at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services were held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Buckeye. Marie was the seventh of nine children born to Edward and Maria (Becker) Bartz. Marie received her education by attending country school and graduated from the Highmore High School. She then received her normal training so she could teach rural schools. She taught school for two years. While helping her sister care for a newborn, she met her husband, Arthur Ott, in Butterfield, Minn. They were married on April 10, 1937, in Hubbard.... Read More	Marie C. While helping her sister care for a newborn, she met her husband, Arthur Ott, in Butterfield, Minn. They were married on April 10, 1937, in Hubbard. After their marriage, they moved to a farm northwest of Hubbard, where they farmed their entire working lives. Marie enjoyed helping in the daily farming operations, gardening and cooking. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children and their families. She was an avid card and game player. She moved into the Sunrise Apartments in Radcliffe in 1989 and resided there until the fall of 2006 when she moved to the Hubbard Care Center. She was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Buckeye. She was survived by a daughter, a daughter-in-law, five grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren, one great-great-great-grandson, four step-grandchildren, 10 step-great-grandchildren and five step-great-great-grandchildren. Marie was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Wayne; her husband, Arthur; one brother; and seven sisters. From the Iowa Falls (Iowa) Times Citizen. Contributed by Mary Moore.
