Mrs. Wallace was born to Minerva Marie Cron in Amarillo, Texas, on August 2, 1917. She received a B.A. in Chemistry from Mary Hardin Baylor University in Texas in 1939, and a M.S. in Biochemistry from Kansas State College in Manhattan, Kansas in 1941. Read More	Marie Cron Wallace, quilter and homemaker, died Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at Culpeper Health and Rehabilitation Center in Culpeper, Virginia. Mrs. Wallace was born to Minerva Marie Cron in Amarillo, Texas, on August 2, 1917. She received a B.A. in Chemistry from Mary Hardin Baylor University in Texas in 1939, and a M.S. in Biochemistry from Kansas State College in Manhattan, Kansas in 1941. After teaching high school math and science in Texas, she moved to Washington, DC in 1942, where she was a metallurgist at the National Bureau of Standards. She met Edward John Wallace there, and they were married on February 16, 1945. They were members of Mount Vernon Place Methodist Church in Washington until they moved to McLean, Virginia in 1955, where they became active members of Trinity United Methodist Church. Mrs. Wallace sang in the choir at both churches. In 2000, Mrs. Wallace moved to Culpeper Virginia to be near her daughters. She was member of Hebron Lutheran Church in Madison until her death. Mrs. Wallace was an avid seamstress and quilter, and designed and completed more than 200 quilts, including annual entries into the Hoffman Challenge from its beginnings until 2006. She was member of the McLean chapter of Quilters Unlimited, and Novum Quilters in Madison. Her husband Edward died October 1, 1997. She is survived by her children Diane Cheryl Heckel, of Madison; David James Wallace and his wife, of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, Patricia Minerva Bullock and her husband, of Newport, Oregon, Kathleen Mollie Edwards and her husband, of Falmouth, Virginia; as well as five grandchildren; Cheryl Heckel Paulson and her husband, of Richmond, Nancy Marie Heckel-Harper and her husband, of Rochester New York, Frederick William Poe Heckel of Charlotte, North Carolina, Christina Lynn Thomas Farree and her husband, of Falmouth, and Robert Allen Thomas of Falmouth; five great-grandchildren, and numerous friends and relatives. The family will receive friends 6:30 until 8 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2009, at Preddy Funeral Home in Madison. Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, November 7, 2009, at Hebron Lutheran Church, Madison, with internment to follow at the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Madison County Library, Inc., P.O.
