Friends also may call after 9 a.m. Friday at the church. She was born on Dec. 29, 1934, in Luxemburg, daughter of Leo and Leona K. (Zewen) Friedman. She married Allie A. Boeckenstedt on Oct. 22, 1953, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Luxemburg. The couple settled in the Greeley area. She attended school and graduated from Immaculate Conception School, Dubuque, in 1952. In 1968, she went to work as a secretary for the West Delaware County Community School District, first in the Greeley School then in the Manchester School. She retired in 1997. She then went to work at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home in 1997, and was currently employed there. She also was a city clerk for Greeley from 1991-1997. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Greeley, where she was a member of St. Anne's Study Club, St. Joseph's Choir, and parish council, and she taught religion classes for 14 years. She also was a member of the Edgewood American Legion Auxiliary and the Greeley Commercial Club. She enjoyed singing in the choir, was a "master gardener" of Delaware County, and a member of the Greeley Betterment Committee. Marie enjoyed fishing and especially loved the time spent with her family. She will be fondly remembered by her husband, Allie Boeckenstedt, of Greeley; her children and their spouses, Bradley and Bambi Boeckenstedt, of Melvern, Kan., Deborah and Michael Hunt, of Greeley, Russell and Sharon Boeckenstedt, Pamela and Ronald Klein, and Mitchell and Mary Boeckenstedt, all of Manchester, and Amy Boeckenstedt, of Greeley; 19 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers and their wives, Harlan and Rosemary Friedman, of Dubuque, Emmett "Butch" and Gerry Friedman, of Cedar Rapids, and John and Carol Friedman, of Bankston. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister and her husband Jeanette and Clete Gassman; and a sister-in-law, Julietta Friedman.
