Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, April 14 at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Deacon Joe Behounek presiding. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 PM Friday at the Hrabak Funeral Home where a Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Victor, Iowa. Marie was born October 21, 1916 to Henry and Mary VanOtegham, Iowa County, Iowa. She married Fred DeMeyer June 12, 1939. The couple farmed several years until he died in January, 1964. Survivors are her children, daughters, Faye (Richard) Brezina, Rose (Steve) Reinhart of Cedar Rapids, sons, Jack (Sandy) DeMeyer of Belle Plaine, and Gary (Elizabeth) DeMeyer of Freeport, Illinois, nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Helen Wauters and Henrietta Malloy. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother John, and three sisters, Clara Anderson, Hilda Van de Voorde and Madalene Wauters. Marie was a long time member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, baking, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends.
