Hazel in Agency, died at 4:10 p.m. Dec 22, 2000, at Ottumwa Manor. She was born Aug. 3, 1925, to Albion and Grace Smith Kelley in Blakesburg. On April 18, 1942, she married Walter B. Jerred. She was a resident of Ottumwa before moving to Agency in 1964. She had worked for John Morrell & Co., Frito-Lay and Canteen Lunch. She was a 52-year member of Ottumwa Baptist Temple. She is survived by her husband; a son, Mike Jerred of Wellsville, KS; two daughters Julie Hanel and Jeanne Sorenson of Des Moines; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; and five great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by a son, John Jerred; three brothers, Lloyd Kelley, a twin brother, Merle Kelley and Maurice Kelley; and a sister, Marjoire Johns. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesay at Ottumwa Baptist Temple, the Rev. Tandy Miller officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Visitation will begin after 9 a.m. today at Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Casket bearers will be Gerald Phillips, Lloyd Phillips, George Blumer, Dale Steele, Clair Young and Bill Overturf.
