Read More	The Dodge Criterion (Dodge, Nebraska) 28 Feb 1935, Thu Page 1 Mrs. Marie Vlach Dies At Her Home In Dodge Monday Death came to end the long and useful life of Mrs. Marie Vlach, Monday morning, February 25th. She passed quietly away at her home here in the presence of those who loved her. Marie Vlach nee Hrdlicka was born March 16, 1865 in Vrestokach, Chrudim, Czechoslovakia. She grew to womanhood in her native land and in 1885 came to the United States to make her home with the family of Joseph Roubinek who at that time operated the Waterlilly Mill between Scribner and the present town site of Snyder. In October of that year she was united in marriage to Vaclav Vlach and they moved to his farm north of Dodge in Cuming county where they lived for 28 years. In 1913 they retired from the farm, moving to Dodge to spend the sunset years of their life. Mr. Vlach died in 1922 and since that time Mrs. Vlach has lived in the family home here with her youngest son Laddie. She was a member of the C.Z.B.J. and Tel Jed Sokol lodges, and of the National Cemetery Association. She was the main factor in helping to develop the National Cemetery Association and offered the first contribution for the erection of the beautiful memorial chapel which now stands on the cemetery grounds. She was always active in all lodge work. She leaves to mourn her 6 children, (Josie) Mrs. Frank Bartosh, (Julia) Mrs. Frank Janecek, (Elizabeth) Mrs. G.J. Borgmeyer, (Emma) Mrs. Jos. Bicak, Wm. Vlach and Laddie Vlach all of this community. Also a stepson, Louis Vlach of Howells, a stepdaughter, Mrs. Mary Gellaspie of Hubbard, Neb., and a sister, Mrs. Antonia Malek who makes her home with Louis Vlach. She leaves 22 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. A daughter Katherine died at the age of 10 years. Two stepsons, James and Joseph, died in 1919 and 1920 respectively Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 1:30 at the home in Dodge, with services after in the chapel at the Bohemian National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest.
