Description	:	Marie Bendschneider, daughter of George and Edith Neistedt Bendschneider, was born on a farm southeast of Victor, June 19, 1925. She received her education in the rural school and graduated from the Victor public school with the class of 1944. She was baptized when a small child in the St. James Lutheran Church of Victor and confirmed in 1939. She had lived in Illinois the last 17 years. Read More	Marie Bendschneider, daughter of George and Edith Neistedt Bendschneider, was born on a farm southeast of Victor, June 19, 1925. She received her education in the rural school and graduated from the Victor public school with the class of 1944. She was baptized when a small child in the St. James Lutheran Church of Victor and confirmed in 1939. She had lived in Illinois the last 17 years. The past 14 years she had made her home with her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Al (Laurene) Meyers of Sauk, Illinois. Miss Bendschneider united with the St. Mark's Lutheran Church at Sauk, IL., where she was a faithful member as long as her health permitted. Her health had been failing the past 4 months. She had been in the Mercy hospital in Iowa City for surgery. On March 6 she was transferred to the Beverly Manor Nursing home in Belle Plaine where she passed away Wednesday, March 18, at the age of 44 years, 8 months and 29 days. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Edith Bendschneider of Victor; three sisters, Mrs. Al (Laurene) Meyers of Sauk, IL.; Mrs. Gene (Marjorie) Brown, Mrs. Vernon (Joyce) VanLancker both of Victor, two nieces and three nephews besides other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father who passed away on June 7, 1967. Funeral services were held from the McAninch chapel Saturday, March 21, at 2 o'clock with Rev. W.A. Popp, pastor of the St. Mark's Lutheran Church of Sauk Village, IL., officiating. Two songs, "Abide with Me" and "Rock of Ages" were sung by Mrs. Wilma Neuhaus and Mrs. Margaret Lyman, with Mrs. Clara Keller at the organ. Casket bearers were Oliver Calvert, Fred Wittenberg, Marvin Calvert, Clark Soedt, Carl Rhinehart, John Kahler, Jr. with burial in the IOOF cemetery at Victor. Victor Record 3/26/1970
