Arrangements are in charge of the Lewis Funeral Home. A daughter of Frederich and Wilemina Fischer Heine, Marie Louise Milsne Heine was born April 16, 1892 at Schessinghausen, Hanover, Germany. She was baptized in the Lutheran church there. She came to America with her parents when 3 years of age, and the family settled in Thayer County, Nebraska. She was confirmed at the Evangelical Lutheran Friedens Church at Deshler, Nebraska on April 8, 1906. She was united in marriage with Henry Groshans at the same church in Deshler. Six children were born to this union, four of whom survive. Mr. and Mrs. Groshans established their first home on a farm in Thayer County, Nebraska, where they resided for two years, then moved to Gurley, Nebraska. They lived at Gurley for five years and then moved back to Thayer County, Nebraska, where they remained for nine years. In 1927 they moved to Holyoke. Mrs. Groshans was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church of Holyoke and was also a member of the Ladies Aid of that church. Survivors include her husband, Henry; three sons, Edwin, Sidney, Nebraska, and Roy and Paul, Holyoke, and one daughter, Lorna (Mrs. Duane) Meinte, Holyoke; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and many other relatives and friends. Preceding Mrs. Groshans in death were two sons, Elmer and Leonard; her parents; one brother, Fred Heine, and one sister, Minnie Elwell.
