Description	:	Marie Wessel Mulroy, 88, of Holton, died Monday, March 21, 2011 at Medicalodges Jackson County Nursing Home in Holton. She was born November 4, 1922 on a farm near Seneca, the daughter of Aloysius Frank and Mary Krogman Nolte. Marie was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Holton, and the Altar Society and Mary Ann Circle at the church. She was a very talented seamstress who could look at something, cut out a pattern and make it. She married Vincent Wessel on February 24, 1943 at Seneca. He died May 10, 1971. She was born November 4, 1922 on a farm near Seneca, the daughter of Aloysius Frank and Mary Krogman Nolte. Marie was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Holton, and the Altar Society and Mary Ann Circle at the church. She was a very talented seamstress who could look at something, cut out a pattern and make it. She married Vincent Wessel on February 24, 1943 at Seneca. He died May 10, 1971. She married Jerome Mulroy on November 24, 1984 at Holton. He died April 15, 2002. Marie was also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Cyril Nolte, Edwin Nolte, Charles Nolte and Sylvester "Whitey" Nolte, and two sisters, Loretta Niekamp and Lucille Feger. Survivors include six sons, Kenneth Wessel (Linda), Goff, Lester Wessel (LaVita), Topeka, Leo Wessel (Nancy), Goff, Maurice Wessel (Jane), Maple Hill, David Wessel (Deloris), Holton, and Marvin Wessel (Debbie), Leavenworth; three daughters, Mary Wentz (Bill), Carmel, IN, Alice Riley, Topeka, and Grace Bowser (Mike), Mayetta; one brother, Regis Nolte, Topeka; one sister, Virginia Huggins, Sabetha; four step-sons, Eldon Mulroy, Goff, Eugene Mulroy, Yakima, WA, Rich Mulroy, Holton, and Pat Mulroy, Mayetta; one step-daughter, Alice Macke, Seneca; twenty-three grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 25th at St. Dominic Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Wetmore Cemetery. She was laid to rest next to her first husband, Vincent Wessel.
