There she learned those habits of industry and frugality which characterized her life. In her young womanhood, she was united in marriage with John Behounek and the young couple went to live on a farm north of Chelsea, where they won the respect and good will of all the community. To them wore born fourteen children. Two of these died in infancy. The twelve still living will comfort each other in their great sorrow. The living are Joseph and Francis Behounek and Mrs. Annie Morek, of Poweshiek county; Charles, John, Albert, Mesdafos James Zeman, J. W. Kratospa, Frank Ledvina, Frank Kuhn; and Misses Agnes and Ella Behounek, all of Tama county. All were present at the bedside of their mother when death came. The husband and father died last June, while he and his wife were preparing to leave the farm and seek that much earned rest in Chelsea. Mrs. Behounek m oved to town last September, but her life had lost all it savor. She became ill, October 24 with anemia, and despite careful nursing and medical attention, the encroachments of the disease could not be stopped. In six days, her wasted vitality yielded to death. Besides the children, a father and three brothers in Missouri, and a sister, Mrs. Michael Dvorak, of Elberon, and a number of grandchildren mourn her departure. The funeral services were held from the Catholic church at Chelsea, Rev. Gregor conducting them. Contributor: George (48419540)
