Funeral services will be held at Holy Trinity church in Brainard Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. ````````````` February 28, 1929, p. 5, col. 3 Obituary of Mrs. Toman Marie Trojan was born in Bounov, Czechoslovakia on Augsut 15, 1845. There she grew to womanhood and was united in marriage to Frank Toman. To this union were born three children, all of whom survive their parents. In 1878 they immigrated to America and settled on a farm near where the village of Bruno now stands. Nine years later they moved onto a farm three miles northwest of Brainard where they resided until the death of Mr. Toman in 1918. After the death of her husband Mrs. Toman moved into Brainard where she spent her declining years, death taking her on Thursday, Feb. 21, 1929. One son, Martin Toman, of Brainard and two daughters, Mrs. A. J. Behne of Brainard and Mrs. Katherine Dvorak of David City, twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren survive her. Mrs. Toman was a devout Christian and a member of two of the church societies. Funeral services were held last Saturday morning at Holy Trinity Catholic church, conducted by Rt. Rev. Msgr. Klein, and burial was in the Brainard Catholic cemetery. Six grandsons, George, Andrew and Edward Behne, Ladislav and Dvorak and Ivan Toman were pallbearers. ___ We hereby extend our sincere thanks to all our friends who so kindly assisted us at time of the illness and death of our beloved mother and grandmother; also for the floral and spiritual offerings.
