Description	:	Marie V. Dionne Services will be held Saturday for Marie V. Dionne who passed away May 22, 1990, in Fortuna at the age of 91. A native of Kansas, she was a resident of Fortuna. Mrs. Dionne moved as a small child with her parents to Eureka, Mont., where she received her formal education. In the early 1940's she moved to Libby, Mont., where she owned and operated a restaurant. She later moved to Vancouver, Wash., where she worked in the kitchen at the Kaiser Permente Hospital. Dionne who passed away May 22, 1990, in Fortuna at the age of 91. A native of Kansas, she was a resident of Fortuna. Mrs. Dionne moved as a small child with her parents to Eureka, Mont., where she received her formal education. In the early 1940's she moved to Libby, Mont., where she owned and operated a restaurant. She later moved to Vancouver, Wash., where she worked in the kitchen at the Kaiser Permente Hospital. In 1945 she moved with her family to Aberdeen, Wash.,until moving to California and Humboldt County in 1951, making her home in Ferndale. In 1956, the family moved to Fortuna. Mrs. Dionne owned and operated the Home Café in Ferndale and later the Village Café and Dionne's Family Restaurant in Fortuna until her retirement in 1973. She had been a member of the Assemblies of God Church for many years. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Alfred "A.J." Dionne of Fortuna; six children and their spouses, Darrell and June Roose of Eureka, Mont., Everett and Lucy Roose of Lincoln City, Ore., Clarence and Berta Roose of Fortuna, Lloyd and Pat Roose of Aberdeen, Wash., A.J. and Mary Dionne Jr. of Yakima, Wash., and Jackie and Ed Whitten of Fortuna; and a sister, Mrs. LaVerne (Blythe) Amondsen of Vancouver. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Green; two brothers, Francis Shenefelt and Harold Shenefelt; and by one grandson. Friends are invited to attend services Saturday, May 26, 1990, at 11 a.m. at Goble's Chapel, Fortuna, with the Rev. Jerry Frost officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Cemetery, Fortuna. Casketbearers will be members of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Goble's Chapel Fortuna where friends may call Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, from 9a.m.
