Description	:	GRAND ISLAND — Marilyn A. Beavers, 90, of Kearney died Sunday, July 10, 2016, at Tiffany Square Care Center in Grand Island. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 4 at O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. at Elm Creek Cemetery. Marilyn was born Dec. 11, 1925, in Elba to Harry and Ann Hansen. She married Clyde Beavers of Elm Creek on Nov. 18, 1950, in Elba. Marilyn was born Dec. 11, 1925, in Elba to Harry and Ann Hansen. She married Clyde Beavers of Elm Creek on Nov. 18, 1950, in Elba. During their marriage they were owners and operators of a motel and gas station in St. Paul. Marilyn loved to collect decorative miniature ceramic porcelain shoes from all over the world. She proudly displayed them for all to view. Family and friends always knew the way to her heart was to bring her a gift of a special shoe from their travels. She loved to read the newspaper from front to back and would always be seen doing crossword puzzles that she loved so dearly. Marilyn loved to make desserts and was known for her Raisin Cream Pie with that FLAKY crust which only she could make — the rest of us tried but failed by comparison. Marilyn was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clyde; brother, Robert L. Hansen; niece, Leslie Hansen-Maslowski; and nephew, Glenn R. Hansen. Survivors include sisters-in-law, Mary Lucille Beavers of Nampa, Idaho, and Vina Shaw and Phyllis Beavers, both of North Platte; and nieces, Robin Bennett and her husband, Scott, and Tiffani Young and her husband, Mike, all of Kearney, Kristine Lechner and husband Roger of Columbus and Konnie Hansen of Fort Worth, Texas.
