Read More	Marilyn Anne Enz McVay, 79, passed away February 17, 2012 in West Lafayette, Ind., She was born March 28, 1932 to Carl and LeNore (Hoard) Enz in Springfield, Ill. In the 1930s, her family moved to Washington Township, Ind., where she grew up on the family farm and attended Washington Center School. She was very proud that her family came to Whitley County in the 1830s and settled in Washington Township. She transferred to Elmhurst High School in Fort Wayne where she graduated in 1950. She graduated from Indiana University with a major in elementary education with a reading concentration. She married William Gene McVay on June 11, 1955. He survives. Before she had children, she taught elementary school. In 1957, the couple moved to South Whitley where they lived most of their married life. She was active with Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, and Fellowship Circle at St. John's Lutheran Church, where she was confirmed and married. In later years, she and her husband rejoined Eberhard Lutheran Church, where her family had belonged in the 1930s. She was a lifelong member of Epsilon Sigma Omicron, a literary society in South Whitley. Due to her declining health, the couple moved to Westminster Village in West Lafayette several years ago. Marilyn's great joy in life was her family and many friends. She loved small children, and took particular joy in her two grandsons, who were born 4 months apart. She also particularly loved music and poetry, and loved reading to her children when they were small. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, William McVay, West Lafayette, Ind.; a daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Randy Abbott, Newburgh, Ind., a son, Andrew McVay, West Lafayette, Ind., a sister, Donna Enz Argon, Bedford, Mass., two grandsons, Alexander McVay Abbott, Washington, DC and Carson Andrew McVay, W. Lafayette, Ind., and many nieces and nephews and their families.
