Description	:	Marilyn Esther Van Haaften, 83, died peacefully at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines on February 16, 2020. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 30, 2020 at 2:00 pm at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 1001 S. James Street, in Grimes, IA. Marilyn was born in Willmar, Minnesota, daughter of Elmer and Minnie Borr on August 17, 1936. She was a friend of many, a child of God, and a sender of cards. She is survived by her children, Teresa, Donald, Randall and Gary; 3 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Ruth Otto. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Dean. Memorial contributions may be directed to Grimes Volunteer Services or to St. Peter Lutheran Church.
