The couple lived and farmed in the rural Deep River area. She moved to Millersburg after her husband death in 1996. She was a member of the Community Church and the church's Mission Circle. She also helped many years at the Ease Iowa Bible Camp and Millerbury Congregate meals. She is survived by her 12 children, 18 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, a sister and two brothers. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a son Robert. Marilyn is my grandmother. She was a little lady with a huge heart. She was a great cook, and one thing i will always miss is grandma's fried chicken. Grandma always used to get a kick when my sister would put on her glasses and pretend to be grandma. One thing that I find interesting is that my grandmother never got her drivers license, my grandfather took her anywhere she needed to go. Another thing is that grandma and grandpa had their own bedrooms which i never thought odd until i reached my 20's but it seemed to work out okay for them, maybe grandpa was a bed hog .
