Marilyn Eva Ullrich was born on July 14, 1927 in Aberdeen, SD to parents Alfred and Hulda (Fiedler) Ullrich. She lived on a farm between Westport and Aberdeen. Then her family moved to a farm outside of Alcester, SD. Her family then moved to Lennox and then Brookings. She attended school at Westport and Alcester. She attended 3 years at Lennox High School and finished her senior year at Brookings High School - graduating in 1946. After graduating she worked at S & L Clothing store and as a clerk at IXL grocery store prior to her marriage. On June 30, 1953 she was married to Arnold Daniel Hugo Geise at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Brookings, SD. They lived on the Geise family farm NW of Willow Lake, SD and attended the Catholic Church in Clark. They moved back to Brookings later in 1953. She worked as a clerk at Red Owl Grocery Store until they started their family. She was a loving and dedicated wife and mother. Marilyn was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. She was an active guild member for many years. She was a member of the ministry of praise group at St. Thomas More. She was active with the American Cancer Society yearly fund drive. Her favorite hobbies were reading, gardening, weeding, taking walks and listening to the birds. She especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends and spending time in prayer each day. Grateful for sharing her life are her husband Arnold Geise of Brookings, one son, Jonathan Geise and wife Mary of Aurora, SD; two daughters: Judy Geise of Brookings, SD; Barbara Geise and special friend Gary Snow of Brookings, SD, two grandsons, Mike Geise and wife Rebecca of Sioux Falls, SD; Tony Geise and special friend Stacey of Aurora, SD. Five great grandchildren, Kaden, Macy, Kaleb, Chloe and Lily Grace. Also surviving are one brother-in-law Harry Geise and wife Sandy of Rapid City, SD, nephews, nieces, cousins and family friend, Chuck Smith. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Vivian and one nephew, Randy.
