She was born Nov. 27, 1933, in Clinton to Henry J. and Ruth Vickerstaff Evers. She married William Clifton on Sept. 7, 1952, in Clinton. She was a graduate of Clinton High School in 1951. She lived in Sindelfingen, Germany, while her husband was stationed there in service, and moved to Savanna, Ill., in 1953. Read More	OTTUMWA – Marilyn Frances Clifton, 62, of 445 Elmdale died 10:45 a.m. July 22, 1996, at the Ottumwa Regional Health Center. She was born Nov. 27, 1933, in Clinton to Henry J. and Ruth Vickerstaff Evers. She married William Clifton on Sept. 7, 1952, in Clinton. She was a graduate of Clinton High School in 1951. She lived in Sindelfingen, Germany, while her husband was stationed there in service, and moved to Savanna, Ill., in 1953. While in Savanna she was active in the Palisades Art League, and she lived in Ottumwa since 1973. She had been a window dresser in Clinton prior to her marriage. She was the pastor of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints in Ottumwa, and had been a member of WaHanKa. She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Krista Adkins of Allen, Texas and Ruth Clifton of McKinney, Texas; two sons, Steven of Ottumwa and Douglas of Grand Prairie, Texas; five grandchildren; a brother, Robert Evers of Clinton and a sister, Grace Determann of Camanche. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Ether McFarlin. The body has been taken from the Reece Funeral Home to Snell-Zorning Funeral Home, 302 3rd Ave. S., Clinton, where the service will be 1 p.m. Saturday with Elder4 Bob Wilke officiating. Burial will be in Clinton Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Snell-Zorning Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be nephews.
