She died Saturday, May 23, 2015, at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk. ——— Marilyn was born on July 23, 1937, in Tilden, the daughter of Martin and Eloise (Fowlkes) Vollbrecht. She was raised on the family farm and attended rural school prior to graduating from Newman Grove High School. She attended Platte College. She was employed at B-D in Columbus. On April 16, 1964, Marilyn married Norbert "Bud" Borer. The couple briefly lived in Tilden before moving to Norfolk. Marilyn owned and operated "Something Old-Something New" and was also involved with Avon. As her family grew, she began her career in daycare, which she continued with until just several years ago. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards with her friends. She liked to do puzzles and especially play the board game Aggravation. Marilyn is survived by her 5 children, 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant daughter and an infant grandson.
