Marilyn was born October 5, 1937 in Holland, MI to Edward and Bernice Borst. She graduated from Richard Montgomery High School and went on to work at the CIA as a secretary. While at work, Marilyn met Bob. They fell in love and were married on November 15, 1958. They were happily married for 57 years and together, they had four children. In 1970, Marilyn and her husband moved their family to Washington state and settled in Snohomish. There, Marilyn was active at the Zion Lutheran Church as a Sunday school teacher and member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. In the 1990s she and Bob moved to Lynden, WA and later settled in Sumas, WA, where they attended the Lynden Protestant Reformed Church. Marilyn was a very loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking, reading, and most of all singing hymns. Her sense of humor and gift of song were a true uplift to all. Marilyn's faith guided her actions throughout life and she lived joyously through her devotion to prayer and reading the Bible. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Bernice Borst, and husband Robert Frank Kelley. She is survived by her four children, Debbie Tuengel (Brent), Mark Kelley, Mary Beth Rochon (Robert), and Becky Gant (Casey); nine grandchildren; one great grandchild due in February; her brother David Borst and his wife, Trudy; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service is to be held at 11am on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Lynden Protestant Reformed Church, 315 North Park St, Lynden, WA. Memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Christian School, 9088 Northwood Rd, Lynden, WA.
