Marilyn was born July 24, 1933 in Gomer, OH, to Robert and Kathryn (Jones) Evans who preceded her in death. On April 20, 1955 she married Herbert Stimmel who preceded her in death on January 20, 1985. Marilyn was a 1951 graduate of the Gomer High School where she was the salutatorian. Read More	Marilyn R Stimmel, age 82, passed away April 1, 2016, at 1:37 am, at the St. Rita's Medical Center. Marilyn was born July 24, 1933 in Gomer, OH, to Robert and Kathryn (Jones) Evans who preceded her in death. On April 20, 1955 she married Herbert Stimmel who preceded her in death on January 20, 1985. Marilyn was a 1951 graduate of the Gomer High School where she was the salutatorian. After high school she took a position as a cashier with St. Rita's Hospital and then with Westinghouse as a secretary. She spent most of her life as a homemaker focused on raising her family. Marilyn was a member of the Westminster United Methodist Church where she played the piano and organ. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women's Group and a former member of the Harrod Happy Homes CCL and the Farm Bureau. Marilyn loved board games, watching Lawrence Welk and traveling. She was proud that she was able to travel to Wales. Marilyn is survived by a son, Douglas (Carole) Stimmel of Lima, OH and 2 daughters; Carol (Kenneth) Webster of Waynesfield, OH and Eileen (Jason) Hartles of Lima, OH, and 2 brothers; Willis Evans of Indianapolis, IN and Lester Evans of Toledo, OH, 5 grandchildren; Amber (Nate) Rex, Amanda (Dustin) Morris, Scott Stimmel, Julie Webster and Kendra Webster, 4 great grandchildren; Audrey Rex, Cameron Rex, Carson Rex and Liam Morris. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Louise Gail Stimmel, a son, Bradley Dane Stimmel, a brother, Arthur (Waneta) Evans and 3 sisters-in-law; Mary Evans, Lois Evans and Patsy Evans. A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 4, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Westminster United Methodist Church. Officiating the service will be Rev. Dave Burkhart. Burial will be in Salem Westminster Cemetery following the service. Friends may call on Sunday, April 3, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL.
