Description	:	Marilyn Rae (Bundy) Brown, 79, formerly of Westfield, died unexpectedly from a stroke on June 10, 2017 in Grants Pass, in the company of her daughter and husband. Memorial services were held on Saturday July 28, at Adaville Methodist Church on C38, in Merrill, Iowa, with the Rev. Merrill Muller officiating. Burial of ashes followed. Marilyn was born on Jan. 28, 1938, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, to Leonard and Georgia Bundy. She graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1956, and went on to graduate from Iowa State Teachers College (Northern Iowa University) in Cedar Falls in 1963 with a bachelor of arts degree in vocal music/music education. Marilyn was accomplished as a solo vocalist and music teacher and choir director. She was strong minded and soft hearted, generous and witty, with a love for music, animals, politics, art, coffee and laughter. She touched many lives with her wisdom and generosity. Marilyn and Melvin Brown were married on March 29,1968. and had their daughter Kara in 1969, then Alex in 1973 (who died at birth). They made their homes in Vinton, West Burlington, Eldridge, Sioux City and Westfield, Iowa, then moved to Oregon in the summer of 2014 to live with their daughter, Kara, in rural Rogue River, Ore. Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Kara L. Brown of Rogue River; her husband, Melvin D. Brown until April 2018; a sister-in-law, Jo Brown of Le Mars; brother-in-law, Jack Hayden of Central Square, N.Y.; cousin, Sheila Cox of Mountain Home, Ark.; and 13 nieces and nephews. Marilyn was preceded in death by son, Alex David; sisters, Barbara, and Carolyn; brother, Dean; her parents; three brothers-in-law, John Weber, Donald Brown and Floyde Brown; and sisters-in-law, Doris Weber and Lucille Brown.
