The young farmer and veteran was killed when a shotgun, which he was apparently removing from his truck on his farm near Iliff, was accidentally discharged, the blast striking full in the face. Local authorities were told today that Mr. and Mrs. Marostica had left Santa Barbara, Calif., some time Tuesday morning and had intended to travel to Texas. State Patrol officers of Colorado, Utah, California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas, have been given the description and license plates of the Marostica car. Mario Marostica was born Oct. 31, 1921, at Iliff, the son of Joseph and Maria Settin Marostica. He was a native of Iliff, graduating from Iliff High School In 1940. On Oct. 3, 1942, He married Miss Marjory DeSoto in Sterling, and in December of that year entered the Armed Forces. He served with the 14th Armored Division in Germany and was discharged from the service in January, 1946. Among his medals is the Purple Heart. Mr. Marostica was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church at Iliff. Surviving Mr. Marostica are his wife, Mrs. Marjory Marostica, two daughters, Marlyn Kay, and Francine Marie, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Marostica, all of Iliff: three sisters, Miss Angela Marostica of Boulder, Mrs. Rena Sandy of Fort Collins, and Mrs. Phi1omino Notario of Atwood; and five brothers, Louis J. Marostica of Morrison, Cob., Joseph Marostica Jr., of Milliken, Colo.. Reno Marostica of Fort Collins, John S. Marostica of Guadalupe, Calif., and Julio Maros ica of Kersey, Co. Funeral arrangements will be in charge of the A. D. Jackson & Son Mortuary.
