Description	:	Marion was born to Roy & Margurite Sanders. He attended Colfax High School before entering the service in 1942. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1942 to 1946; serving in Iwo Jima and Guam. He received the Purple Heart while serving on Iwo Jima. Marion also served in the Air National Guard in England during the Korean Conflict. He married Virginia Krom on June 16, 1946 at Dusty, WA. He later worked for Burns Auto Parts and then operated Sanders Auto Supply for 13 years. He retired in 1990 from the Colfax School District, where he served as a maintenance supervisor. He was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church, Hiram Lodge 21, Royal Arch Masons, Commandry Royal & Select Masons, Past Master of Masonic Lodge, and Past Illustrious Master of Royal & Select Masters. He also belonged to Knights of the York Cross of Honors and a member of the Golden Link Chapter of Eastern Star, serving nine times as Worthy Patron of Washington OES Chapter of Colfax. He served with the Colfax Volunteer Fire Dept. from 1947-1955. Marion loved traveling by motor home and building model planes. In addition to his daughter, Denise Dawn, he was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Brayden Hause, a sister, Evelyn Yarter and a brother, Robert T. Sanders.
