Description	:	In Memory of Marion Augusta Kramer, age 97, of Aplington, Iowa, was the daughter of Albert and Lillian (Meinders) Meyer born on February 11, 1922, at their farm home north of Austinville. She attended the “Crooked” School, north of Austinville for three years. She then transferred to a school which was two miles east and attended school there though the eighth grade. After her schooling, Marion stayed on the family farm with her parents and siblings and assisted then with farm chores and yard work. Read More	In Memory of Marion Augusta Kramer, age 97, of Aplington, Iowa, was the daughter of Albert and Lillian (Meinders) Meyer born on February 11, 1922, at their farm home north of Austinville. She attended the “Crooked” School, north of Austinville for three years. She then transferred to a school which was two miles east and attended school there though the eighth grade. After her schooling, Marion stayed on the family farm with her parents and siblings and assisted then with farm chores and yard work. Marion was baptized at the Washington Reformed Church, north of Ackley, Iowa. She attended Sunday School, catechism, Dorcas Society and choir. She made confession of faith in October 1945. On January 23, 1946, Marion was united in marriage with Harman Kramer at the Washington Reformed Church parsonage. Their first year they resided on a farm north of the church. The next ten years, Marion and Harmon lived and farmed southwest of Kesley. Then they lived six years northwest of Austinville until they purchased a farm near Harmony, Minnesota in 1963. While living in Minnesota, they attended the Greenleafton Reformed Church near Preston. In 1974, the couple moved back to Aplington, where they retired. Marion was a member of the First Reformed Church. She was also a member of Kesley AMVET Auxiliary. Marion and Harmon enjoyed traveling and they sent many winters in the southern states. Marion enjoyed the outdoors, living on the farm, serving others and hand work of all kinds. Marion died Tuesday, August 27, 2019, at Maple Manor Village in Aplington. She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Harmon, on March 16, 1996; her parents, Albert and Lillian Meyer; two brothers, LeRoy and Alvin Meyer; one sister, Arlene Meyer; one brother-in-law, two sisters-in-law; three nephews; one niece and one great-nephew. Marion is survived by two sisters-in-law, Fern Meyer and Marlene Meyer, both of Ackley and 16 nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 31, 2019, at the First Reformed Church in Aplington, with burial in the Washington Reformed Cemetery in rural Ackley. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, at the Redman-Schwartz Funeral Chapel in Aplington, and one hour before services at the church.
