Description	:	Marion C. HOGGE HAYES - Marion Carlton Hogge, 83, passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2011, in Walter reed Convalescent Center after a long illness. He was a lifelong resident of Gloucester County and retired from Big Star Grocery working in the meat department. He was a member of Union Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon and taught Sunday School. He was preceded in death by his stepson, Donald Abernathy; his parents, Lewis Harvey and Tessie Owens Hogge; his sibling, Calvin P. Hogge, Alice H. Horsley and John E. Hogge. He is survived by his wife, Vivian Abernathy Hogge; sisters, Catherine Haywood and Betty Lyle; brothers, Sam Hogge, Andrew Hogge, Jennings Hogge and Thomas Hogge; great-granddaughter, Tracy Wilcher and her husband, Richard; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2011, in Union Baptist Church by the Rev. Richard Whiteheart. Burial will be in Gloucester Point Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to either the American Heart Assoc. C/O Joann Gallagher, P.O. Box 43, Ware Neck, VA 23178, or to Abingdon Fire and Rescue, P.O. Box 9, Bena, VA 23108.
