Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Marion was born on June 6, 1919, in Sioux City, to Harry and Anna (Grubel) Willis. She attended Sioux City schools and graduated from East High. She worked as a nanny in Sioux City before uniting in marriage with Arthur S. Baker on Sept. 20, 1941, in Dakota City. The couple made their home in Sioux City until moving to Sergeant Bluff in October 1969. They were both members of Sergeant Bluff Community United Methodist Church. Marion enjoyed a variety of things from gardening to knitting, crocheting and tatting. She was also a very talented seamstress and loved to cook, making her home comfortable and warm. Marion was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She cherished her family and friends. She touched a lot of peoples lives and made many friends in her lifetime. Those left to honor her memory include her son, Charles Baker of Orofino, Idaho; daughter, Susan Nyreen of North Sioux City; grandson, Tom (Shiloh) VarVais of Enterprise, Kan.; granddaughters, Rebecca Garb of Orofino and Evelyn Pellens of Little River, S.C.; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Olive Garcia of Orange, Calif. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur; sister, Yvonne Warren; and brothers, Marvin and Milton Willis, in infancy. Obituary text taken from Sioux City Journal
