He was born June 25, 1917, at Redfield, the son of Carl and Bessie Brillhart Burt. He married Maxine Holt Dennis April 3, 1971, at Uniontown. Mr. Burt was a member of the Uniontown United Methodist Church and the Olson-Frary-Burkhardt Post 1165, Veterans of Foreign Wars. He served in te U.S. Navy from 1942-45. He was born June 25, 1917, at Redfield, the son of Carl and Bessie Brillhart Burt. He married Maxine Holt Dennis April 3, 1971, at Uniontown. Mr. Burt was a member of the Uniontown United Methodist Church and the Olson-Frary-Burkhardt Post 1165, Veterans of Foreign Wars. He served in te U.S. Navy from 1942-45. He was a 1st Class Pharmacist Mate. Mr. Burt was city clerk in Olathe from June 1962-71 and was city clerk at Manhattan from 1971-79. Survivors include his wife, of the home; a stepson, Don Dennis, Uniontown; a brother, Charles Burt, Edwardsville, Kan.; a sister, Mary Detmering, Rogers, Ark.; four step-grandchildren; and two step-great grandchildren. His first wife, Dorothy Nigh Burt, died 1970. He also was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother, Ruby Bates, Florence Crouch, Geraldine Gile and Virgil Burt. The Rev. Lou Davies will conduct services at 2:30 P.M. Thursday at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. Burial will be in Uniontown Cemetery. Military rites will be under the auspices of the Olson-Fray-Burkhart Post 1165, Veterans of Foreign Wars. Visitation will be from 7 p.m.to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
