Marion Evenson was born June 13, 1927, the daughter of Leo and Josephine (Harmon) Hennessy, in Minot, ND. She was raised and educated in Minot, graduating from Minot High School in 1945. Marion married Virgil Evenson on November 22, 1949 at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Minot. They made their home in Minot where they raised their five children. Virgil passed away on September 24, 1973. The family continued to live in Minot, where she worked in retail for several stores. Marion was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot, ND. Marion enjoyed going to sporting events and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan, having a shrine to the Packers in the basement of her home. Over the years, she was very active in Bishop Ryan activities and followed Ryan sports. Marion’s constant companion was her sister, Joyce Eggert. If you saw one, the other was not too far away. Surviving family includes: Children, Merry Jo Hansen (Jerry), Minot, Marc Evenson (Cyndi), Burnsville, MN, and Shelley Hoiby (Lyndon), McGregor, ND. Daughter-in-law, Karen Evenson, Leesburg, FL. Grandchildren, Heidi Jo Soukup (Jeff), Danielle Erickson (David), Natalie Evenson, Paige Hoiby, Levi Hoiby. Great-grandchildren, Lucas, Samantha and Benjamin Erickson and Sadie Jo Soukup. Brother, Tom Hennessy, Washington. Sisters, Joyce Eggert, Minot and Lois Olson, Arizona. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Marion was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Virgil Evenson, sons, Miles (Pat) Evenson and Michael Lee Evenson; brothers, Harley, Duane, and Leo Hennessy along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
