Mr. Ashley was born September 26, 1949, in Sioux City to John and Catherine Rathsach Ashley. He graduated from Anthon-Oto High School in 1967 and was a lifelong resident of the Anthon area. He married Nancy Parker February 7, 1970, in Anthon. The couple farmed northwest of Anthon. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and a former member of the 185th Tactical Fighter Group of the Iowa Air National Guard. Survivors include his wife, two sons, Jason and Jarod both at home, his mother, Catherine Ashley of Aurora, Colorado, his father, John Ashley of Anthon, two brothers, Mick of Moville and Barry of Aurora, Colorado, and two sisters, Margaret Ashley and Laura Ashley both of Seattle, Washington. He was preceded by his grandparents, one sister and two nieces.
