Read More	In Memoriam Marion Green and Cornelia Davidson were meant to be together. They lived at 722 Central Avenue, Charlotte, North Carolina. They were married on September 17, 1901, Rutherford County, North Carolina. Marion was 34 and Cornelia was 23. They loved each other dearly through their 47 years of marriage, and were a joy to be with. Marion adored his wife and looked after her continually. Cornelia's sister Janie Davidson Craven named her son Marion Green Craven in his honor. As their great-niece I knew them from their visits to see my my Grandmother, Irene Davidson Spencer, my great Aunt Cornie's sister. We all loved them! Here we are in 2015 and I have memories of my dear great Aunt Cornie and great Uncle Marion today. I visualize them quite clearly in my mind's eye. They were visiting from North Carolina in late 1940's with my grandparents in Virginia, a great family event, for their visits had become less as they aged. They were quietly chatting, sharing stories of their family and their youth. My grandfather Thomas whom was the extrovert of our family, sitting in his sturdy mahogany corner chair that he liked, chuckling and telling his outlandish funny stories and jokes. The high ceiling living room echoed with the sound of their laughter, and their joy at being together once again. I was a young girl, completely unaware how important these times were to my elders. I only knew how I loved to bask in their warmth and listen to their stories of yesteryears. Soon their earthly voices were stilled... Great Aunt Cornie in 1949... Grandfather Thomas in 1952... Grandmother Irene in 1960... Great Uncle Marion in 1967 at the age of 100 years. Angel Gabriel must have really blown his horn when great Uncle Marion arrived joyfully through the portals of heaven!
