Description	:	Marion Koele, 74, of Hull died Thursday, March 20, at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D, A funeral service was held Monday at the First Reformed Church in Hull. The Rev. Verlyn Boone and the Rev. Harold Lenters officiated. Interment was at Hope Cemetery in Hull. Arrangements were by the Kraai-Oolman Funeral Home in Hull. Mr. Koele was born on Jan. 30, 1923, in rural Hull, the son of Hein and Mary (Roggen) Koele. He was raised at Hull and served in the United States Army during World War II. He was awarded the Purple Heart. On April 2, 1947, he married Marilyn B. Klay at Hull. They made their home in Hull where he was employed at the Hull Creamery in earlier years. More recently, he was a rural mail carrier, retiring in 1988. He was a member of the First Reformed Church where he had served on the consistory as an elder and a deacon. He also belonged to the Wegman-Koele American Legion Post 380 of Hull. Mr. Koele was an avid sportsman. He especially enjoyed fishing, hunting and trapping. He also enjoyed gardening. Survivors include his wife; two daughters; a son; seven grandchildren; two brothers; five sisters; and nephews and nieces.
