Read More	Adams County Free Press, Corning, Iowa Thursday, February 18,1932, Page 6 Martha Ratcliff, daughter of Martha and Benjamin Bates Ratcliff, was born near Malta, Morgan County, Ohio, November 24, 1845, and died at her home in Nodaway, Iowa, February 5, 1932, and was at the time of her death, 86 years, 2 months and 12 days of age.  On October 4, 1866, she was united in marriage to Thomas Wesley Osborn of Malta, Ohio, who preceded her in death August 12, 1914. To this union six children were born, five of whom are living. One son, Benjamin L. Osborn, of Villisca passed away from this life in April, 1926. She was one of a family of eight children and lived to be the last member of that circle of brothers and sisters.  In the fall of 1868, when the great pioneer movement was on, she, with her husband, migrated to Iowa, and settled in Page County, near the North Grove settlement. Several years later they moved to Taylor County, and then to Nodaway, which for the past 47 years had been her home. Mrs. Osborn was born and reared in the Friends Church, but shortly after their arrival in Iowa, she and her husband united with the Methodist Episcopal Church, to which she remained a faithful and devout member, although in late years her health was greatly impaired so that it was impossible for her to take an active part in church work.  Her life was spent in humble, loving service to those she loved and her simplicity and Christian character shone as a halo about her. None knew her but to love her.  She leaves to mourn her loss one son, W.W. Osborn of Creston, Iowa and four daughters, Mrs. A.W. Hawk of Omaha, Nebraska, Mrs. M. McKown, Mrs. W.E. Daugherty and Blanche Osborn of Nodaway, seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at the Osborn home in Nodaway with the Rev. Wayne Emry, the M.E. pastor officiating, assisted by the Presbyterian minister, Rev. L.O. Lee., The pall bearers were Harold Osborn, Ned Osborn and Callis Moore, of Villisca, W.C. Ratcliff, of Red Oak and Will Osborn and Howard Sickels, of Creston. Several beautiful selections were sung by Roy G. Held and Martin Taylor, with Mrs. C.N. Kennedy accompanying at the piano. Burial was made in the Nodaway Cemetery.
